Welcome to my farm!
It’s more like a “wannabe” farm. I actually always thought of it as a hobby farm, or just my separate little hobbies, existing together at my home.
Then I heard about “homesteading” and I was intrigued! I wanted to become a “homesteader”.
But the more I learned, the more I started to realize I already was a homesteader! This little space we call our own already was a homestead. It had become that naturally, on its own, as I simply followed my interests.
I had an inborn love of animals, the great outdoors, and growing my own food.
In 2018, after 2 decades in the city, I moved with my family to 6 acres in the country. This was my dream come true! Within 3 months we had our goats. In 2020, we added our ducks. And the entire time I’ve been expanding our garden, learning and growing myself along with it. The compost pile, like the “Trash Heap” in the old show, Fraggle Rock, has been front and center in all of these operations.
To round it all out, each step of the way has been deeply researched to satisfy my (also inborn) need to understand it all both mathematically and scientifically.
I am a writer. And I naturally take pictures of everything.
When I discovered I was answering more homesteading questions than asking was when I realized I already was homesteading. And that is when I decided I wanted to share this life with those of you who are either already doing the same things, or who would some day like to do them.
Welcome to my life. Welcome to this blog!
